The Dayton Firefighters Federal Credit Union was organized as the "Dayton (Ohio) Firemen Federal Credit Union" on the 4th day of June, 1935. The charter members-all fire department employees-applied for permission to organize and operate a Federal credit union.
The field of membership-"any active or pensioned employee of Dayton, Ohio Fire Department and Department of Telegraph and Signals; employees of this credit union; members of their immediate family; and any association of such employees"-remained intact for over 68 years.
The growth that followed was evidence of membership approval and acceptance that the credit union was a good choice for more of their financial business.
In September 2003, we were able to open our services to anyone that lives works worships or attends school in Montgomery County of Ohio.
